NCJW Purim: An Intersectional Feminist Celebration
Tellings of the Purim story of Queen Vashti and Queen Esther too often focus on their beauty, dismiss their strength, and limit their agency. And there are other women in the Megillah whose stories we never tell.

It’s time to honor the women both at the centers and the margins of the story – to celebrate courageous decisions and bold actions, and to remember those too often forgotten. Let’s reclaim their herstory and recognize the community activists and organizers who were there.

Join NCJW Scholar in Residence Danya Ruttenberg and special guest Ginna Green, Partner and Chief Strategy Officer at Uprise Consulting, for an intersectional feminist Purim celebration! We’ll raise a glass and hear lively commentary of the Purim spiel centering those most marginalized and often underestimated.

Ginna Green is a co-host of the Forward’s “A Bintel Brief” podcast. “Born, raised and returned to South Carolina,” she is also a strategist, writer, movement-builder, and consultant at Uprise. She also sits on the boards of Bend the Arc, Women’s March, Political Research Associates, the Jews of Color Initiative, Jewish Story Partners and the Jewish Social Justice Roundtable.
